Review British Patchwork & Quilting - January 1, 2008
"Two well known quilters give tips to successful quilting in this 'quick reference guide.' Alex covers the techniques of hand quilting and all the necessary equipment giving useful suggestions on creating and marking quilting designs. Harriet gives advice on machines, work areas and lighting and discusses tension, needles, feet and threads. She uses high quality invisible nylon thread to anchor the three layers before beginning free motion quilting. I found her suggestions on the order to quilt very helpful. Two pages list brand name waddings/battings and their characteristics. All the tips are displayed in small coloured boxes. There are charts, photos and diagrams throughout and the laminated pages and ring binding make this handy book easy to use. I recommend it as my book of the month."
